Ma-3-umpo si AdeNU HS 90 Alumni Mass ta, si Mon B amay amay ta nagpreparar para sa Mass and reading assignments.
While waiting for the Mass to start, I was able to talk to Mr. Ringo Badilla who is an official of the ADENUAA (Batch 81) and gladly welcomed our class (not batch, american standard english). He asked for the complete roster of our officers to include it in the general roster of all AdeNU alumni classes, I told him we’re just starting the organization phase but the eagerness among our batchmates is on a high tempo.
Btw, Fr. Angelo Silerio will finally have his 3rd vow in his Jesuit priestly vocation i believe on the second week of April. This was relayed by our “highly informational and intelligent but always confidential” NBI guy, Yul Marpuri, who is a neighbor of Silerios from Camaligan. The KGBs present, proposed that we attend this momentous occasion in our fellow KGB’s life and give him class souvenir gift which he could use for his daily mass ritual—-a KGB chalice.
Now, back to the alumni mass, I thought that I had come for a wrong mass when after I finished reading the First Word, I haven’t still seen any KGBs around. I was expecting to see the Celebrados and Nunez families, the Ateneo guys – Engineer’s Monte, Cueto & Banzuela; faculty members Quejada, Locsin, Reyes (the former “bullfrog” who is now a respectable PE teacher in Ateneo HS) who I often brushed shoulders with during the Palarong Bikol in Pacol. We also expected Kai Reyes, Dr. Giovanni Carlos who gave his word but perhaps due to his very tight schedule at the BMC (he’s a senior internist) wasn’t able to come.
We were also expecting Charlton Baduya, Raman Alvarez, Don Aquino, Don Pandes (bayantel), Don Verdeflor, Jesus Verdadero (mcdonalds), Ruben Balanlayos (newly wed to the former Katy Alarcon), Noel Sta. Isabel (who sought a permit for his new 9mm at City Hall together with his APO Bro. Jing Marquez), Ka Leo Pascua, Ful Agna, Glen Verdadero, Albert San Juan, Bob Tipones, Al Panoy, Boboy Macalino, Roni Sano, bankers Leo Casiles, Mike Llagas etc. But most of all, we were expecting Byron B. to bankroll whatever fund-wanting activity for the day.
The San Vicente’s, Sonny Tam and Yul Marpuri though saved the day!
Together with his mom and younger bro Vic, Raymond SV who’s fresh from his stint at the Mid-east treated us to a mini feast not at the Xavier Hall but to a superb local restaurant (stuffing ourselves with seafood’s galore, lechon kawali (which Raymond hadn’t savored for almost 2 years now), baby back ribs and four seasons after a brief picture taking (as requested by mike b.) at the new but yet to be painted Ateneo chapel and at the Four Pillars.
To those who haven’t been to Ateneo recently, Fr. Raul Bonoan’s bust stands guard at the Four Pillars receiving with cordiality all Ateneans and guests as he walks into the famed Ateneo entrance. Yul Marpuri (who is now the executive officer of NBI region five) gorged on chicks fried on butter while Sonny Tam (junior Asst. manager of PCI equitable) feasted both on the great food as well as the video streams of Raymond’s Nokia N70
We had a lot of fun sharing the day away till we drop through the night time.
